When the Auburn fishing team was handed down a year-long suspension for violation of the school’s COVID-19 policy, team member and family friend Tucker Smith immediately thought of 1 man, Joe Durham. He immediately reached out to Mr. Durham and asked if he could do anything to help. Thanks to Joe’s love of fishing and love for the law, the match was a perfect fit. In the past, thanks to a friendship with professional angler Aaron Martens, Mr. Durham has had the pleasure of representing some of the biggest names in professional fishing including, Martens, Kevin Van Dam, and Randy Howell.
Mr. Durham worked with team president Logan Parks to better understand the reasoning for the suspension and prepare for the appeal before the school board. Following the hearing, Student Affairs shortened the penalty by nearly 60%, shortening the suspension from all of 2021, to it ending on April 22, 2021. For the Auburn Fishing Team, this was a huge win, allowing them to practice and compete as a team for the remainder of 2021. Not only was the Auburn team happy, so was Mr. Durham, who after receiving numerous emails from team members parents’ was quoted as saying:
“I learned that when you represent someone, a person or a small group, and you get them a good result, you can change their life and they’ll never forget you,”
Congratulations the Auburn Fishing Team and Joe Durham for his exceptional work representing the students. If you need help with your civil legal matters, contact Joe Durham, PC today for a risk-free consultation.
