About the Worth County State Court

The Worth County State Court, situated in Sylvester, Georgia, was established in 1914 by the Georgia General Assembly. Over the years, the court and the range of cases it addresses have undergone substantial transformations.

The State Court holds jurisdiction over misdemeanors, traffic cases, and civil actions not exclusively reserved for the Superior Court (such as felony criminal cases, divorce and child custody cases, or temporary restraining orders), Probate Court (including the probate of wills or appointment of guardians), or Juvenile Court (including traffic cases involving defendants aged 16 or younger).
