Since 1798, Clerks of the Baker County Superior Court have served as elected county constitutional officers, a role established by Georgia’s constitution framers. This office plays a crucial role in local county government and the state’s judicial system by providing essential checks and balances.

Baker County Superior Court – Clerk of Court

The Clerk is responsible for receiving, managing, and processing all court documents, as well as collecting and disbursing court fees, fines, and costs. Additionally, the Clerk facilitates public access to court records.

Other duties encompass safeguarding and permanently maintaining citizens’ property deeds and liens, overseeing county trial and grand juries (including juror summoning), offering administrative support to the county board of tax equalization, appointing notaries public, registering trade names, and issuing subpoenas for court appearances as the elected official.
