About the Albany Municipal Court

The Albany Municipal Court is a misdemeanor court with jurisdiction over city ordinance violations and state traffic offenses. It handles a variety of cases, including but not limited to traffic offenses, driving under the influence of alcohol, possession and consumption by a minor, possession of marijuana less than an ounce, firearms violations, nuisance and abatement cases, and animal control citations.

The Municipal Court office is located in room 201 of the Dougherty County Judicial Building located at 225 Pine Avenue.

The mission of the Albany Municipal Municipal Court is to fairly adjudicate cases and consistently deliver the highest level of dependable customer service with professionalism. This commitment extends to interactions with various departments within the City, elected officials, judges, attorneys, and the general public.
